Interstate-5, intersecting in olympia on or around 2005. Since forming,
they have both gained and lost members, recorded 12 full length albums
(only 3 of which have seen proper release), played across the world
supporting such talented acts as Adrian Orange and Her Band, Half
Handed Cloud, Laura Veirs, and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. The sounds they
craft are straight from the playbook of the good parts of Billy Joel,
Fleetwood Mac, and Turkish psychedelic music. Caressing the Rhodes
piano, endearing drum fills, guitars that dont sound like guitars, and
some slamming bass lines: Listening to LAKE is like pouring sugar in

SLUSHY GUTS Steve from Bromancer and Collapse's most unlikely project ever (if you know either of those two bands). Soft, heartbroken, songs that are so open they make the audience feel downright awkward. Distinctly uneasy listening, but lovely at the same time. Bring tissues.

Pissinboy was originally Andrea Pirovano's solo project (guitar & vocals), and became a band in november 2007 when Tel (bass) and Graham Mushnik (drums) joined Piro. Based in Stoke Newington, London, Pissinboy sounds quite dirty and low-fi, with elements of pop, folk, garage, British bored-punk... When Tel left the band, Pissinboy became a duet and Graham decided to play the keyboard as well as the drums.

founding member of Codeine; the band that started the Slowcore scene in
the late 80's, then he formed Come with Thalia Zedek, now drums in The
New Year, plays guitar for Thurston Moore and Evan Dando and with a
wealth of other high achieving acts. Chris Brokaw is a rare humble
genius and one of the finest solo artists of our times.

PHEROMOANS They have the ineptitude and absurdity of both the Fuck Off Records roster (Danny and the Dressmakers, 012, etc) and Back From The Grave comps mixed together with hints of The Shadow Ring and Ben Wallers (Country Teasers, THE Rebel) experimental fiddlefucking around genius.
EXTRADITION ORDER A very welcome back to Catapulte to the Warrington based quartet with their anarchic, manic, raw, strung out and passionate post punk gothic folk. Awkward timings, dark romanticism and screamed, spit-filled vocal, go-go bells and wonderful backing vocals.
PISSINBOY If you don't like their diamond-in-the-rough harmonious scruntch pop... there's must be something wrong with you.
With scene stalwarts Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr lining up in fervent support, 'Yankee Reality' is Hush Arbors second Ecstatic Piece album after last year's revelatory eponymous release. Wood has taken his ghostly acid-fried folk-rock and bolted both feral garage and a carnal jangle to this Exocet of ideas.
Maybe the term "Lo-fi orchestration" is a little too contradictory, but we feel that Hush Arbors pulls it off. Hush Arbors produce sombre tunes that harken back to backwoods Americana. While Woods stirring vocals wind around eggshell guitar chords, frayed ends of jittery electronics and garage bombast are added to the mix.
EL GOODO
Drenched in hazy rich harmonies, ringing guitars, and horns, the mysterious El Goodo are a psychedelic group from the village of Resolven in South Wales, U.K. Friends Super Furry Animals have brought El Goodo along on tour as well as released their self-titled debut on their own label, Placid Casual.

Eclectic style of music incorporates post-rock, metal, sludge, prog, stoner and doom with jazz stylings and eastern influences. RockDetector's book, 'History of Stoner, Goth, and Doom', categorizes their music as 'doom-jazz'.
They have toured for 10 years with the likes of Don Caballero, Clutch, Mastodon and many others. Steve Albini is a friend and fan - he recorded their first album in his basement and their last album at his electrical Audio Studio.

BALMORHEA
Balmorhea, pronounced Bal-moor-ay, is a band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2006 by Rob Lowe and Michael Muller, members also include Aisha Burns (violin), Nicole Kern (cello), and Travis Chapman (double bass). They self-released their first album, Balmorhea, in April 2007 and followed up with Rivers Arms in February 2008. Balmorhea have toured the US three times and released a limited edition, hand numbered Tour EP at the end of 2008. Their third full-length album, entitled All Is Wild, All Is Silent, which was released early March 2009. Their fourth album, Constellations, will be released February 23, 2010.
NILS FRAHM
Nils Frahm, born in 1982, had an early introduction to music. During his childhood he was taught to play piano by Nahum Brodski - a student of the last scholar of Tschaikowski. It was through this that Nils began to immerse himself in the styles of the classical pianists before him as well as contemporary composers. Today Nils Frahm works as a composer and producer in Berlin. In early 2008 he founded Durton Studio, where he has worked with likeminded musicians. The three instrumentals, which make up his debut release 'Wintermusik' are piano led pieces, coloured with occasional celeste and reed organ parts. The record's equal measures of sorrowful refrains and uplifting passages, combined with a real intimacy that makes for an album you'll want to return to again and again. The songs were originally intended as a Christmas present for friends and family and first released on sonic pieces, hence its winter release via London-based cinematic music label Erased Tapes. As the curator of the Swedish boutique label Kning Disk's Piano Series, Peter Broderick invited Nils to record a new album of piano improvisations - the result is 'The Bells', which will now also be released on Erased Tapes in the UK, Ireland and North America. The record includes pieces of improvised piano music, which were recorded in the wonderful Grunewald church in Berlin.
Maths are currently tearing up the country with their April tour to promote new album Descent. Their uncompromising and brutal sound is at the forefront of a new wave of British bands beating new life into a tired alternative scene. Descent is described as:
